CMP Technology Japan., Co.,Ltd. (hereafter, ’CMP Technology’ or ’the company’) respects the privacy of

  • all people who participate in exhibitions or conferences hosted by CMP Technology whose name was CMP Japan Co., Ltd. MediaLive Dept. or MediaLive Japan, Inc., or use services via the Internet based on onsite registration, prior registration, or membership registration
  • all people who are expressed by personal information which trusted from firms or groups other than CMP Technology
  • employees of CMP Technology

And CMP Technology takes the utmost care to protect personal information.

  • CMP Technology appropriately collects, use and provides personal information in consideration of the contents and scale of the company's business.
  • CMP Technology protects against illegal access and prevents personal information from loss, destruction and distortion.
  • CMP Technology observes laws regarding personal information and the relevant standards.
  • CMP Technology continuously improves the company's compliance program of the protection of personal information.
  • CMP Technology supervises proper treatment of personal information by firms or groups which are provided by the company.
  • CMP Technology obtains a user's consent after notification of outsourcing of personal information to firms or groups.
  • CMP Technology obtains a user's consent after notification of the different usage of that user's personal information from the original purposes at the time of registration.

CMP Technology Privacy Policy

Regarding the acquisition of personal information

CMP Technology may request personal information from users in the following cases. In all such cases, CMP Technology will indicate that personal information is required, and will ask users to provide this information at their own discretion.

  • Applications to participate in exhibitions or seminars
  • Registration for electronic mail distribution services
  • Registration for various members-only services
  • Replies to online surveys
  • Entries / participation in contests, competitions, and other events
  • Requests for special services or information
  • Orders for periodic publications, books, digital content, and other products
  • Other cases as necessary

Users may also be asked to provide personal information by companies or groups other than CMP Technology when requesting information or services, ordering products, making an application, or requesting an appointment within the venue for an event staged by CMP Technology or via a web site linked to CMP Technology. Where it is necessary for personal information to be provided to a company or group other than CMP Technology, this will be indicated, and we ask that users provide this information at their own discretion.

Details of the personal information we may request

In order to identify individuals for the purposes of communication, CMP Technology may ask users to provide information including their e-mail address, name, address and post code, and telephone number.

  • CMP Technology may also ask users for details of their job and workplace, details of information and products in which they are interested, and details of newspapers and magazines to which they subscribe. It is not necessary to reply to all questions, although you may be unable to use certain services if you do not reply to a particular question.
  • CMP Technology may also ask for your ID number for members-only services, usually in order to enable certain users to receive special privileges.
  • CMP Technology may also ask for account numbers and credit card numbers, in order to arrange payment for products ordered by users, non-free events, and non-free services.

The personal information of registered users may also be linked to other information managed by CMP Technology.

Regarding the use of personal information

Personal information obtained from users is to be used for the following purposes. Please contact CMP Technology at any time if you wish to refuse the use of this information for a particular purpose.

  • In order to provide electronic mail distribution services
  • In order to verify eligibility for members-only services
  • In order to deliver information or products ordered by users
  • In order to perform essential checks and provide guidance regarding services for which users have applied
  • In order to report results to users who cooperated with or participated in surveys or events
  • In order to deliver announcements from CMP Technology which users are likely to find useful
  • In order to deliver announcements from firms and groups other than CMP Technology which users are likely to find useful
  • In order to research to run high-quality events and to develop brand-new events in the future
  • Other cases where it is necessary to contact a users for some reason

We may use personal information obtained from users in order to improve the contents of web sites and electronic mail messages and make them more useful to our users, or to customize services for particular users. We may also use personal information in order to show particular users advertisements which may be of interest to them.

Regarding the disclosure of personal information to third parties

CMP Technology will not disclose registered personal information to a third party without the consent of users (even in cases where announcements which users are likely to find useful are delivered from firms and groups other than CMP Technology, personal information is not provided to those firms or groups). Where a user who has provided consent for the disclosure of information to a third party subsequently wishes to stop the provision of information, CMP Technology will stop the external provision of information as soon as possible.

However, where users provide personal information at their own discretion to firms or groups other than CMP Technology when requesting information or services, ordering products, making an application, or requesting an appointment within the venue for an event staged by CMP Technology or via a web site linked to CMP Technology, they shall be deemed to have consented to the transfer of personal information, and this personal information may be provided to the relevant firms or groups.

In the case of members-only services which are provided by CMP Technology as a form of mediation, users shall be deemed to have consented to the transfer of personal information at the time of registration of membership.
Personal information may be exchanged with financial institutions where necessary in order to settle payment for non-free services or products ordered by users. This is necessary in order to check the validity of bank account and credit card details. Personal information may also be disclosed in cases where required by law or where deemed necessary in order to protect or defend the rights, property, or safety of CMP Technology or other users.
CMP Technology may publish aggregated information obtained by processing personal information using statistical techniques (for example, XX% of all users attend the YYY forum each year). This will not include any information which enables individual users to be identified.

Regarding the deletion of registered information

Upon request from a user, CMP Technology will cease the transmission of information and the provision of services to that user, and where the registration is to be deleted, personal information corresponding to that user will be deleted from the company's databases.
Please contact us in order to change registration details for electronic mail distribution services. Users can also change certain details of personal information via the CMP Technology web site.
